About this campaign

Mob “justice” begins with an accusation. The accused rapidly becomes the focus of a mob who turns to violence. Thugs move in and those who disapprove of street “justice” move away. The thugs who enjoy violence move in and take control. At this point, the accused life is uncertain. Nothing they can do or say will stop the events unfolding. Those who want to speak often stay silent, thinking they are alone and will put themselves in danger if they protest.
But if we don’t walk away. If at the very start we raise a hand and say no, then we will not be lone voices but united against mob “justice”. We can insist on giving the accused fair hearing and that violence is not dished out on the street. Don’t walk away – raise a hand against mob “justice” in Nigeria.
This campaign is about us, ordinary Nigerian’s, taking action to stop mob “justice”. It starts and stops with us.
Don’t walk away from it.
If we do we’ll pay for it.
No-one else to blame for it.
Don’t walk away.
